The Real Purpose of Education

The late theologian, R. J. Rushdoony, was very concerned over the issue of education in this country and what the real reasons for that education were.

Years ago he made the statement: "Statist educators want to create a people who will be Creatures of the State and its Schools, not creatures of God;  that's the goal. You see it's a religious conflict and it's a religious goal with these people. You can never fully grasp their objective until you see the religious aspect of it....Education is fundamentally and essentially religious...If you want to know what the religion of the people of the culture is, examine their education."

If Rev. Rushdoony's  statement is accurate, and I have no reason to think it is not, then the question arises--what is our real religion in this country at this point in history? Does the way we educate our children determine what we really believe, regardless of what we do on Sunday morning at church?

Rev. Rushdoony's comments explain to us, or should anyway, why we cannot just mount a campaign to "take back our public schools." Such a campaign would create confusion and folly because of the simple fact that the public school system was never ours to begin with. It was always a tool of Humanism, and anti-Christian to the core!

Most Christians have a problem grasping this because they have not been educated, ( if they got their education in public schools), this way to begin with. They have been educated to become "Creature of the State" rather than creatures of God.

Rushdoony went on to explain that "This is why you can not simply take over a Humanistic School's Curriculum and sprinkle Holy Water on it. It must be Root and Branch Christian in conception, because it must communicate the Christian Doctrine of Freedom. 'If the Son makes you free, then are ye free indeed'. no other way. If we believe that we have to educate in terms of it, we can not allow another Doctrine of Salvation to come into our schools."

In our day it becomes more and more apparent (though this truth was always there) that our public institutions of learning are educating Christian kids to become good little socialists.
This is really their agenda. It always has been, though it becomes ever more explicit nowadays because the system feels it is far enough along in its task that it does not even have to conceal it any longer. As long as they can keep Christian kids in public schools they can counteract what they get Sunday morning in church because those Christian kids in public schools get an hour of Sunday School on Sunday mornings and that will never be enough, no matter how potent it may or may not be, to combat 30 hours of prime time Humanism that is presented each week in public schools.

Just remember what Rev. Rushdoony said; that the primary goal of education is always religious, never just neutral. This has been true since the Unitarians and socialists promoted the concept of public education in this country back in the 1830s as a tool to counteract the influence the church schools had on Christian kids.

So you folks who think the public schools will be  fine if you can just get them back to the "good old days" are kidding yourselves because with public education there never were any "good old days." All there was were times when the socialism was less apparent than it is now, but it was still there. You just didn't notice it.

Education has always been a religious function. The question is, will it be Christian or anti-Christian? You Christian folks with your kids in public schools really need to start to consider Christian education options for your kids and remove them (secede) from the public schools.

I have seen all manner of statistics in recent years showing the fact that Christian kids in public education end up leaving the church when they are old enough to be on their own. Why do you suppose that is? Think it has anything to do with the religion (Humanism) that was prevalent in the public schools they attended?

If the public school system is bad now, what do you think it is going to be like when your grandchildren come along? And don't think you are going to change it by attending parent-teacher meetings. That's delusion--almost as bad as the Trump "Russia collusion delusion."

Leaving your kids in the public school system, in most cases, determines what religion your grandchildren will end up being taught, and I will give you a subtle hint, it won't be Christianity!
